Former WWE champion Stone Cold Steve Austin may return to the ring for one last match.

According to Givemesport.com, talks circulated that Stone Cold might be making a comeback just for one fight after fans noticed how the commentary team of "Monday Night Raw," consisting of Jerry Lawler, Michael Cole and John Bradshaw Layfield, plugged "The Steve Austin Show," the podcast of "Rattlesnake". The podcast will feature Kevin Nash as Austin's guest.

Allegedly, the WWE ordered Stone Cold merchandise in bulk, which was surprising since Austin's podcast is not affiliated with WWE. Also, Austin publicly claimed that he is currently training hard. Stone Cold kept his option of returning to the ring open if the money was right and the storyline was entertaining enough. The new developments triggered rumors that Stone Cold and the WWE created a new working relationship, which will ultimately lead to his comeback for one final match at WrestleMania 31.

Should the Texan Rattlesnake return, fans speculate that he will be facing reigning champion Brock Lesnar. Previously, Stone Cold indicated that he wanted to fight Lesnar at WrestleMania. The two stars first clashed a decade ago at WrestleMania XX, where Austin served as the special referee in a huge match between Lesnar and Goldberg. The fight ended with Goldberg winning but both fighters suffering from Stone Cold Stunners from the referee.

A match between Lesnar and Stone Cold would have an expectedly good buildup considering that Paul Heyman will be part of the direction.

According to Inquisitr.com, fans also shared their ideas on who would be worthy of facing Stone Cold if he returns. The possibilities include John Cena, The Rock and even Hulk Hogan. Fans are primarily banking on a dream fight against CM Punk. However, CM Punk is no longer in the WWE. He previously put himself in self-exile from the organization in January 2014 after Royal Rumble.

Stone Cold has also been very vocal about CM Punk's departure, saying that the latter should have continued working and earning while he still had the chance. Bleacher Report writes that Austin predicted that CM Punk would return to the WWE soon for WrestleMania 30. However, CM Punk stayed out of sight. Perhaps a big offer from the organization would entice the star to return for one more fight against Austin.

In the meantime, these remain rumors and should be treated as such.
