A new Nike Kevin Durant 7 colorway will be available on the shelves very soon.
At 12:00 p.m. EDT on September 10, the Nike KD 7 "Easy Money" will be released at Nike.com. Buyers are advised to follow @nikestore on Twitter to get the countdown link before official launch time. Only two sneakers will be sold per customer.
The KD 7 is the seventh signature sneaker in the line, which was designed by Leo Chang. The basketball shoe focuses on the key traits of the reigning MVP - power, quickness and unpredictability. The design of the pair was highly inspired by Durant's background inside and outside of basketball. The shoes have the features that suit a point guard, then add the strength and required stability to match the game of a small forward.
Durant said in a feature by Nike.com that he collaborated with Chang to come up with the unique-looking shoes. He said, "With the KD7 we wanted to build strong storytelling. Leo and the team are always technically focused, but we also wanted to have some fun with hidden stories that make me who I am."
In a report by Footlocker.com, the "Easy Money" colorway is described as "Mystic Green/Light Brown" on the box label. The outsole of the shoes is light brown. The insole and pillars inside the Zoom Air bag are light orange and the front strap is dark green. The forefoot Swoosh and KD logo on the tongue are mystic green. The front half of the upper is made of white mesh while the back half is mystic green. The laces are black with light orange stitching. The Swoosh at the heel is white with a light orange border.
The name "Easy Money" was spawned from Benjamin Franklin, who appears on the $100 bill. Franklin was a well-known scientist who experimented with weather. It is also widely known that Durant himself is highly fascinated with meteorology, which explains why the colorways in the KD 7 line are all based on weather conditions. The green tones on the upcoming pair are based on the green hues that appear on Franklin's $100 bill.
According to Nicekicks.com, the Nike KD7 "Easy Money" will be available on Wednesday at Foot Locker, Nike.com, House of Hoops by Foot Locker, Finish Line and other designated Nike boutiques and shops. The pair will come at a retail price of $150 for men sizes and $115 for kid sizes.
