There are only a few celebrity separations that have not turned ugly on media. However, it appears that the split between Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey is definitely not an example of that.
Recently, the actor, host and producer went on a Twitter rant to defend himself against allegations of an impending divorce and cheating on his side. He wrote on his Twitter account, "For the record I NEVER have, nor will I make a statement regarding my marriage. And finally, ‘Trouble in Paradise' is the dumbest phrase I've ever heard! I would never say that sh*t."
Cannon is alluding to the statement Yahoo! purportedly obtained from the actor back in August, which read, "There is trouble in paradise ... We have been living in separate houses for a few months."
MTV News obtained screenshots of Cannon's entire monologue about the state of his relationship with the singer. Cannon poured his anger on the media, especially those who have cited sources who allegedly had inside information about the couple's crumbling marriage.
"I have personally been absent from social media for the past few months for obvious reasons but I feel the need to finally speak up...During this challenging time for me and my family it saddens me that the media can be such evil bottom feeders... Because my family & I haven't been forthcoming with personal information, people are quick to paint negative pictures and spread rumours (sic). For the record I NEVER have, nor will I make a statement regarding my marriage. So whatever your favorite gossip outlet is reporting has been created within their own imagination," Cannon said.
He then ended with a plea from fans and curious readers to take in whatever information celebrity sites have reported with a grain of salt.
"At this difficult time I would ask all civilized people to please respect my family and this process...What infuriates me most is to hear people slander @MariahCarey . I will forever be in debted to her for blessing me with our children...I will always love her unconditionally for this and so much more. @MariahCarey is an amazing Mother and I trust her wholeheartedly...I love @MariahCarey and that will never change!!!," Cannon declared on Twitter.
An insider told RadarOnline that Mariah believes that Nick has been cheating on her as he travels for work. It has been widely reported that Nick has moved on from Mariah with 23-year-old model, Jasmine Sanders. Star Magazine said that the "America's Got Talent" host has been spotted one time with Sanders at a launch party for one of his business ventures. Moreover, the magazine has claimed that Nick actually has a lot of women on the side despite his image as a good husband to his diva-wife.
Although Carey has yet to address the rumors on her own social media accounts, observers noted that the singer and her husband has been spotted without their wedding rings.
