On September 12, the world should not only witness the unveiling of the latest high-profile mobile operating system, the iOS 6, but also see for itself if Apple's newest flagship smartphone is indeed the same device that has been leaked in pictures and videos (with largely same design but a larger screen) circulating on the internet, if the phone is released that is.
There is good reason to believe, however, that both iOS 6 and iPhone 5 will make an appearance on that day not only because the media is heavily reporting it but also because Apple's invitation this week said so - the "12" shadow making a "5" as in "iPhone 5" (unless you believe Apple is hinting an unveiling for December 5, of course)?
The unveiling certainly means that people can start preparing themselves to upgrade their iPhone 4's, 4S's and 3GS's to the iOS 6 while for some...actually, probably for a whole bunch it means they can start preparing their wallets to make a purchase.
Ordering or purchasing the iPhone 5 as well as upgrading to the iOS 6 should not be expected for the unveiling date. Reportedly, the iPhone 5 should be available by September 21 and it is still not clear if Apple will privilege iPhone 5 buyers with iOS 6 exclusivity at first and release it to the masses sometime later.
If the last detail is true, people who get their hands on Apple's latest iPhone iteration will be privileged(?) with new features that the iOS 6 offers including a new and improved SIRI that speaks not only English, more calling features, Passbook, and better Facebook and Twitter social media integration.
If leaked pictures of the new the iPhone are indeed true, then the booting of iOS 6 on the iPhone 5 should look like what the following leaked video shows:
Fans, Consumer Comments:
Not trying to be "that guy" but maybe the image of the 12 with a shadow turning into a 5 means that it is going to be released on December 5... :0

We'll see. I'm excited for iOS 6, because I already know what to expect. But, who knows what Apple is gonna do with their next iPhone.

As much as I want to try iOS 6, without transit directions built- in, I can not upgrade. I live in Tokyo, and can not read the Japanese transit maps, so I use this function EVERY DAY. A third party app for Tokyo is not going to offer English menus or directions. This was a big mistake for Apple. Outside of North America, the car culture does not exist. Here, 90%+ of the population use public transit everyday and about 50% of them use an iPhone. This will push people to the competitor. I just can not fathom the stupidity of this move. We couldn't care less about their spat with Google.

Nice additions to the Call Rejection system -- but I ask one basic and very related question: WHERE is the ability to REALLY reject a call PERMANENTLY? AKA, simply B L O C K I N G calls you never want to receive ever again... Whether it be scammers and sales calls, or a fair-weathered friend you'd just as soon not hear from.
I'm sure a large percentage of iPhone users would much prefer having that feature over most of the others. This function would require minimal tweaking of iOS, and make a lot of dedicated iPhone users very happy.KenKlinger - Macworld.com
These 5 reasons are exactly what I think also. iOS 6 looks good, but again, its only evolutionary, not revolutionary, which is kind of the way apple seems to be doing everything lately. I love the iOS ecosystem just because all my apple products work seamless together... Apple is great, the ecosystem is super, but compared to all of the advancements in mobile in the last year, the wow factor is just not the same as it used to be. I hope apple isn't just "sitting on their laurels" because they know tech moves fast. I don't think I would ever switch to it, but the S3 launch was kind of exciting, and this comes from someone who clearly see's Samsung rip-off apple products all the time.Hugo Velazquez - Mashable
Enough about the iPhone and iPad. The iPod Touch is now two years old without a real upgrade! I remember they were all the rage until the iPhone started expanding its carrier list in America. Now Apple thinks they don't need to upgrade that product anymore.

Not only were they available on other OS's, some of them were also available in the jailbreak world, such as, do not disturb, Siri being smarter (Siri is still smarter with a jailbreak). They didn't add the features we really needed like toggles (WiFi, bluetooth, brightness ) they could have put them right in the notofication center. it's very annoying to close an app just to lunch setting to adjust ur brightness or manage wifi. All of these features are available in the jailbreak world.

I would like to know why the ipad 1 is not supported. The device is barely 2 years old and has already been disregarded. These devices are not cheap and regrettably not everyone can afford to buy a new device every couple of years, although I am sure Apple would love nothing better. Very disappointed in Apple for that move!

Being an Apple fan I welcome all the existing features that apple lacks and obviously new features that will lead apple being unique.

All of this new iOS6 info is too exciting.

wha, wait, you're serious? You're excited watching the Androidification of iOS! I thought you were being /s but then again you are using an iPhone (I assume), so all of this must be new to you. Breathe deep, use a paperbag if you must, your apple brain will eventually process all these new features that I was enjoying on my Droid 1 in 2009....
