Many months after the massively successful animated flick "Frozen" dropped in theaters worldwide, Disney is still finding creative ways to milk the movie for what it's worth. From merchandise to inclusion of key "Frozen" characters in TV show "Once Upon A Time," the filmmaking company has covered much ground in profiting from the very successful flick.
Currently, the company has not run out of "Frozen" treats to offer to the adoring public, as proven by the announcement of the airing of a behind-the-scenes special for the record-breaking movie.
"ABC will air 'The Story Of Frozen: Making A Disney Animated Classic' at 8 PM Sept. 2," Deadline reported. "The special comes after ABC already tied 'Frozen' into its fantasy drama 'Once Upon a Time,' plunking characters from the record-setting animated feature onto the live-action TV show."
This news should have "Frozen" fans clapping with glee. Some may even find this a nice consolation for the absence of a sequel, or even the out-of-stock movie merchandise that fans are still seeking many months after the movie's theater run ended.
"The one-hour special includes interviews with stars Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, the directors, songwriters, producer, and artists, and chief creative officer John Lasseter," Entertainment Weekly said. "The production includes footage from the Norwegian villages and landscapes that inspired the look of Arendelle."
Double wow!
Aside from this, there also will be "an exclusive preview of the introductions of 'Frozen' characters into the live-action ABC series 'Once Upon a Time,'" according to Digital Spy.
It can be recalled that the live-action version of Queen Elsa will be played by Aussie actress Georgina Haig in the hit TV series. Princess Anna will be portrayed by newcomer Elizabeth Lail, while Prince Hans will be played by Jacob Moore.
Do be warned, though, the TV special will also give audiences an "exclusive sneak peek" at upcoming Disney animated film "Big Hero 6," proving that the studio sure knows how to promote its movie projects.
Last month, the first official images of the "Frozen" arc in 'OUAT' were released by ABC, showing Haig and Scott Michael Foster, who plays Kristoff, together, along with Sven the reindeer, Zap2It reported.
"Most of them shots appear to take place in a barn where Sven is housed (and, based on the film, likely where Kristoff is bunking too). But there's one shot of Elsa indoors that hints at sunnier times in Arendelle," the site added.
"Once Upon A Time" Season 4 will premiere on September 28.
