The "Fifty Shades of Grey" trailer is finally out and fans and critics alike were treated to all two minutes and 34 seconds of Anastasia Steele's (Dakota Johnson) unconventional romance with Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan).
Last year, when Universal and Focus Features announced the cast for the Sam Taylor-Johnson-directed film, readers of the E.L. James book series were in an uproar, because actors Alexis Bledel and Matt Bomer, were more favored to play the lead roles, CNN reported. Dornan is actually the second choice for the role, as "Sons of Anarchy" and "Pacific Rim" actor, Charlie Hunnam, who was first picked to play Grey, had to pull out due to scheduling conflicts.
But what does the movie adaptation of the erotic romance thriller series have in store for us? Here are the movie's top five hot secrets:
1. Beyonce is obviously a fan
Queen Bey must be super "Crazy In Love" when she was tapped to sing a much slowed-down, and uber-sexy version of her 2003 monster hit she sang with then-boyfriend and now husband Jay-Z.
Producer Boots, who helped Beyonce Knowles in majority of her 2013 self-titled album, told Complex Magazine about working on the film's score: "Whenever it comes to the stuff that Bey and I do, I'll never speak for her, but I think that she killed it," he continued. "She just absolutely killed it. The acapellas that she did gives me chills, so it's really dope."
Ahead of the release of the actual official trailer, Beyonce teased her millions of Instagram fans with a short teaser clip.
2. Dornan as Christian Grey was a Godsend, to film producers, at least
There have been doubts about Dornan replacing Hunnam to play the role of the dashing and controlling Mr. Grey. The film teaser had somewhat silenced that, especially at around 0:51, when Dornan's character looks straight into Ana's eyes while uttering the words, "I am," MTV.com said.
3. We now see how creepy Ana's friend Jose is
For some who have actually read the book series, Jose (Victor Rasuk) is seen as Ana's potential first boyfriend, because of their long-running friendship and both of their parents are buddies. But when Jose makes that move to kiss Ana, fans may be rooting for Christian to beat the hell out of him.
4. The Tampon scene is definitely happening
For the rest of the people who have yet to be acquainted with the first book's 47 other sex scenarios, the trailer provided a glimpse of a rather, bloody scene.
Part of the book's "Fifty Shades of Grey" read like this,
"When did you start your period, Anastasia?" he asks out of the blue, gazing down at me. "Err... yesterday," I mumble in my highly aroused state.
5. The infamous Red Room looks like a stuffy artifact museum of sex
All red leather and with boudoir lighting, Christian's Red Room did not translate on the teaser as the most terrifying room. Nonetheless, one would have to wait for the film to hit theaters to see if the room, where all the action happens, will be as exciting as author E.L. James described it to be.
