Jerami Grant is the son of former NBA player Harvey Grant -- and he is trending well in social media sites.

The former Syracuse forward was drafted in the second round by the Philadelphia 76ers and was playing for the summer league team. He is usually known for his wide wingspan and violent dunks. During his college days, there were several videos of him dunking over opponents so powerfully that the ball would bounce out of the screen entirely.

This time, however, he fell short and had an epic dunk fail in front of his father and on camera. The video immediately found its way on social media sites and went viral.

Jerami was working the left side of the low post and managed to do a couple of up-and-unders against two large defenders. The two opponents took the bait, jumping prematurely so Jerami had the clearance he wanted. The crowd watched in anticipation, expecting the forward to dunk the basketball with force as he always did. Jerami lowered himself while looking up the rim then went up for a right-handed slam but the ball jammed into the outer edge of the rim. He was short by one full foot at least.

The dunk attempt was so strong that Jerami fell away after landing on the court with both feet. He took a couple of stutter steps backward with his arms flailing wildly to try and balance himself but was soon sitting on the floor. The opposing team, as well as his own teammates, gave him little attention after the failed dunk and proceeded to run to the opposite end of the court. Jerami scrambled to get back on his feet and helped contest the counterattack.

The camera zoomed in on his father, Harvey Grant, who seemed a bit concerned.

Houston Jerami Grant averaged 12.5 points per game in high school then improved himself to average 12.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists while playing for Syracuse University. In college, the small forward shot 49.6% from the floor and usually gets a double-double after games. In April 2014, he waived his last two years of college eligibility to declare for the NBA draft. He was selected 39th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers on June 26, 2014.

Jerami is the son of Harvey and Beverly Grant. Harvey Grant was the 12th overall pick in the 1988 NBA Draft. Harvey played for 11 years in the NBA. Jerami's uncle is four-time NBA champion Horace Grant, the twin brother of Harvey.
