A number of notable Playstation 4 games are set for release in the month of July 2014. Gamers are particularly looking forward to the launch of "The Last of Us," "OddWorld" and "Crimsonland".
"The Last of Us" is an action game created by Naught Dog Software. It is set for release on July 29, 2014. The game has a rating of M for Mature, which means that gamers may be exposed to strong language, blood and gore, intense violence and sexual themes.
The story revolves around an on-going apocalypse where populations are being destroyed by a new type of plague. Survivors have to kill others to get food, medical supplies and weapons. Ellie and Joel have to work together to stay alive as they move across the United States. The game was improved to run in 1080p resolution. Upgrades were also done to improve the visual effects of characters, lighting and shadows. The textures have been improved and a new DLC material is included in the game. Map packs will also be included in the new game.
In an IGN report, "Oddworld" is an adventure game created by Just Add Water Developments and was developed with Oddworld Inhabitants. The release date is on July 22 and has a rating of RP-T+ which stands for Rating Pending, Targeting a Rating of Teen or Above.
The game is actually a remake of the adventure game "Abe's Oddysee." Gamers will find themselves in a strange environment called Oddworld. Players of the old game will recognize the same first chapter with a unique twist. The story revolves around a character called Abe, an ugly but useful Mudokon slave. Abe and other Mudokons work in a meat packing plant which focuses to bring species to extinction. Abe realizes that the plant is targetting his own race next, so he starts a plan to save the Mudokons and escape from the plant. The game features platforms, puzzles and communication aspects.
"Crimsonland" is another PS4 game set for release on July 15. It is a shooter game developed and made by 10tons. The objective is to survive as players try to defend themselves from waves of deadly monsters. Players will handle various weapons, power-ups and bonuses. There will also be highly unique and powerful weapons along the way. The new version features 720p widescreen support, leaderboards and a sixth episode, among others.
According to Ecumenical News, more games are set to be released for PlayStation 4 along with these games.
