Isaiah Washington and Sandra Oh, as Dr. Preston Burke and Dr. Cristina Yang respectively, portray compelling characters that become even more riveting when sharing a scene. In fact, their on-screen combo has been recognized as one of the top 50 Best TV Scenes by Entertainment Weekly.
If you're a fan of Team Cristina and Burke, you'll probably love the fact that a copy of the actual script that Sandra and Isaiah worked with in filming that poignant, unforgettable scene has been made available for your consumption. The scene showed the two doctors talking "about the moment that shaped both of their lives: the day he left her at the altar."
"Their chat was seven years in the making, as Cristina finally got some closure from the man who had broken her seemingly unbreakable heart," ET said.
In the script, Cristina can be found revealing that the best thing that ever happened to her was Burke "walking away from our wedding."
"It made me stand on my own two feet. I am better for it. YOU are better for it," she told Burke.
A few lines later, Burke confessed that he didn't really want her to work for him as "it would destroy my marriage."
With lines and twists as riveting as this, we're not surprised why "Grey's Anatomy" has sailed through 10 seasons.
"The way I loved you was... consuming," Burke continued. He then proceeded to say that he didn't really want her to work for him. Instead, he revealed, he wanted Cristina to take over the Institute for him. This turn of events leaves Dr. Yang shell-shocked.
"You're...offering me your hospital? Like you're Willy Wonka and you're handing me a chocolate factory," Cristina seemed to say matter-of-factly, albeit in a sharply humorous way.
Does Cristina accept the offer? Read the script and tell us what you find!
Meanwhile, there have been reports that a Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital may have a new face come Season 11, En Starz noted.
"Actor Robert McHalffey revealed that he recently auditioned for Grey's Anatomy," the site said. "McHalffey, 29, was presumably auditioning for a part on Grey's upcoming eleventh season, which the writers and producers are already working on as Shonda Rhimes recently revealed."
"They say it takes 10 years to break into this business. I'm not giving up. I had an audition for 'Grey's Anatomy' two months ago. Regardless if I get the part, I was in the room. They know who I am. It's the little victories," the actor was quoted as saying.
The upcoming season of "Grey's Anatomy" will play on the small screens come fall this year on ABC.
