At the right price, Nick Diaz said that he is willing to allow "The Spider" to redeem himself by facing him in 2015. In a report by MMA Fighting, Anderson Silva, arguably the greatest MMA fighter of all time, planned to make a comeback early. Diaz responded that he would fight Silva if the money was right. The fighter also expressed that he's been wanted to face Silva for a long time. Such a matchup could be one of the biggest ever in the UFC.
According to Bleacher Report, Ariel Helwani, an MMA broadcaster, shared that Diaz is currently in a kind of semi-retirement after losing to George St. Pierre in 2013. He has not fight with anyone, but would only face the injured if the money was right.
Silva is also set to face other fighters upon his return. According to Ed Soares, manager of Silva, "There's Michael Bisping, there's Cung Le, even Nick Diaz. Nick Diaz has said he's wanted to fight him before. Nick Diaz wanted to box Roy Jones Jr. You could argue that Nick Diaz and Anderson probably have some of the best boxing in MMA, so we'll see what happens."
Silva is already 39 years old and held the middleweight championship title in the UFC for almost seven years. He lost twice to Chris Weidman, with the second one ending due to a leg fracture. Diaz used to hold the welterweight championship title in Strikeforce. He previously lost to Georges St. Pierre but did not want to be pitted against Hector Lombard and Carlos Condit afterwards. Perhaps the two fighters needed each other for their huge comeback.
In a Yahoo! Sports article, Diaz seemed to be unhappy with the offers he had been given in the UFC, such as a possible fight against Hector Lombard. Dana White, UFC President said, "I talked to Nick. I offered him the Lombard fight. Said he was interested in it and then he's gone, disappears."
