Season 11 of "Grey's Anatomy" is drawing closer and fans are getting more excited about how things will turn up, especially for Dr. Cristina Yang or Sarah Oh.
Oh is among the six actors on "Grey's Anatomy" whose contract expired in May 2014. However, other primary actors like Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, Justin Chambers and James Pickens Jr. have already signed on for two more seasons of the hit show.
The actress gave the announcement on Twitter to her 300,000 followers. She tweeted, "Starting the last day of shooting on Grey's with my usual mug of tea. A little meditation and much gratitude." She posted later, "I've been dreaming non-stop about Grey's for the past few weeks ... can't believe it's my last week here already," a report by Canada.com noted.
TV Line detailed how Oh's decision to leave the show affected her. She told the site, "Creatively, I really feel like I gave it my all, and I feel ready to let her go. It's such an interesting thing to play a character for so long and to actually get the sense that she wants to be let go as well. [Cristina] wants to be let go, and I am ready to let her go. We have to start the process, story-wise, for the Grey's writers to think of why she's going to go."
In Season 10, Dr. Yang left the hospital and many fans of the popular TV show on ABC thought that it would be her official exit. ABC extended the show for another Season in May 2014, notably, without the actress joining the series anymore.
According to the Examiner, Oh sought the help of a therapist to deal with the big adjustment, after she finally decided to leave the TV series. She also asked for support from friends in helping her transition properly after playing her role for several years.
Season 11 of "Grey's Anatomy" is set to begin in September 2014. The writers of the show are already busy creating an intense storyline - this time, however, without Dr. Cristina Yang.
