'Big Bang Theory' fans are anxiously waiting for the show to return this fall after some major cliffhangers at last season's finale. The show is scheduled to premiere September 27 on CBS.

With Howard off to space, Sheldon and Amy's unexpected hand holding and Leonard and Penny's relationship in a weird limbo, fans are clamoring for more information. Executive producers Bill Prady and Steve Molaro spoke to TV Guide to spill some major spoilers.

Howard, played by actor Simon Helberg, will find himself still in space for the season premiere, the producers told TV Guide. The physicist turned astronaut, who married his girlfriend Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) before taking off to space, will have to deal with his new wife and his mother when he returns to earth. And speaking of the famous Mrs. Wolowitz (mother) may be making an appearance this season, TV Line reports, and is possibly getting her own boyfriend-a rumored Dr. Schneider.

Pseudo couple Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) and Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik) took a giant step towards actually being a couple during the finally when Sheldon grabbed Amy's hand while watching Howard take off into space, but don't expect them too much from the couple just yet. Producer Molaro told Hollywood Reporter, "She has her sights set way down the line and knows she needs to pace herself. If reaching for Amy's hand took two years and reduced audiences to tears the couple's baby steps will continue to be monumental." Molaro added, "It's the weirdest boyfriend-girlfriend story on TV."

The beloved Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) relationship will continue to blossom, the producers hinted, but not everything will be rainbows and sunshine. Molaro told TV Guide, "They are dating right now, and Penny and Leonard love each other on some very deep level. But at the same time, they're trying to feel their way what it's like to be boyfriend and girlfriend." So don't expect Leonard to propose to Penny again, following his failed proposal during the finale.

Of course, no one can forget lovable Raj. Now that Raj's best friend, Howard, is married, producers have hinted at Raj's search to fill the void he's feeling. Molaro told TV Guide, "I think the words love interest are a bit strong. A hole has been left by his friend getting married, he will try to fill that hole in various ways." Let's just hope Raj doesn't fall in love with any other inanimate objects this season.

"Big Bang Theory" is scheduled to premiere September 27 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
