Can't get enough of "True Detective"? Hints from the writer of the show should have you up and clapping for joy.
Writer-producer Nic Pizzolatto revealed in a public radio program some juicy morsels about season 2 of the hit HBO series, MTV noted.
"Right now, we're working with three leads. It takes place in California - not Los Angeles, but some of the much lesser known venues of California - and we're going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambiance of the place, much like we did in season one," Pizzolatto said. "The characters are all new, but I'm deeply in love with each of them. We've got the entire series broken out with a couple of scripts, and we'll probably start casting in earnest in the coming months."
If you're living in the Golden State, we won't be surprised if you'll constantly be hit by the urge to snoop around in the hopes of learning about the show's shooting locations.
"Revealing the setting to be somewhere in California is certainly a major detail, especially when considering how integral Louisiana was to the story of Rust Cohle and Marty Hart, but with only L.A. ruled out, that still leaves quite a bit of mystery about where the next season will be," MTV observed.
The writer's revelations is the first of its kind about the upcoming season since his interview after the first season ended. Although the location has been revealed, news about the casting have yet to come forward.
"Those Jessica Chastain rumors may have turned out to be untrue, but expect to hear a lot more on the casting front relatively soon," the site observed. "Based on what Pizzolatto is saying, new casting talk and official hires shouldn't be too far off, especially now that scripts are coming together."
