In an incident that many people have not hesitated to describe as miraculous, a man avoided a possible tragedy when he managed to catch a one-year-old boy who fell from the second floor of a building in the Chinese city of Zhongshan.
The events happened on Sunday in southern China, in Xiaolan Town, Zhongshan City, in the province of Guangdong, when the minor's mother left the house for a moment. The baby climbed up to his home's window, on the second floor of a building, while neighbors looked on terrified, as they attempted to prevent a potential deadly fall.
According to The Telegraph, the video was captured by a security camera placed in one of the neighboring buildings. The amazing video shows how many neighbors gather and try to instruct the baby to return to the interior of his house.
A local man, identified only as Mr. Li, crosses the street running and extends his arms forwards to catch the boy in case he fell.
Meanwhile, another neighbor, identified as Mr. Hu, joins people who are placing cardboard and a sofa on the ground, under the window, hoping that they might soften the baby boy's fall.
Unexpectedly, the boy falls from the window and he is miraculously caught by Mr. Li, to the relief of the other neighbors who immediately gather to verify that the boy is fine.
"I didn't think much at the moment. I was afraid I wouldn't catch him. Some people were placing cardboard boxes underneath to prevent the boy from getting hurt in case I couldn't catch him," Mr. Li told CCTV, reported Fox News.
"It was nothing more than human instinct to led us to do it," assured Mr. Hu, according to the quoted source.
