Fox News Anchor Gregg Jarrett was arrested on Wednesday at a bar in the Minneapolis Airport for inappropriate conduct and driving under the influence, local media reported.

According to a report shared by Reuters, 59-year-old Jarrett was arrested by airport police on the afternoon of Wednesday at the facilities of a bar and restaurant, after the news anchor was "uncooperative" with security agents.

Patrick Hogan, spokesman for the Minneapolis International Airport, said through a press release that "Mr. Jarrett was intoxicated, beligerent and uncooperative."

The police were initially called for an incident related to a drunken man at the airport bar, who was apparently aggressive. When the agents arrived at the place, the news anchor continued his belligerent attittude and was arrested for a minor crime.

Jarrett, who had asked for free time to Fox News for personal reasons, was taken to the jail of Hennepin County in Minneapolis and was set free on the morning of Thursday after paying a bail of $300, reported news website The Wrap.

The news anchor will have to present himself at a court on June 6, as confirmed by Reuters.

On their part, Fox News emitted a brief statement on the morning of Thursday in which they assured that it was not clear when Jarrett would be able to work for the network again.

"We were told last night that Gregg Jarett was arrested in Minneapolis accused of a misdemeanor. He's dealing with serious personal problems at this time. There is no determined date for when Gregg can come back to the air," was the message from Fox News, according to The Washington Post.
