"Carmine" is not something that miners dig or people drive. It's not a new game, a location, or a hybridized word. According to Kicks on Fire, it's "the general term for some deep red colors that are very slightly purplish but are generally slightly closer to red than the color crimson."
Some of you may say, "Yeah, whatever. It's just RED." Which is not entirely wrong, either. Especially when you consider the fact that it's the signature color of the upcoming Air Jordan kicks, which have been first seen on Michael Jordan's feet way back in 1991.
Air Jordan 6 "Carmine" is about to drop on May 24, Saturday, at 8 a.m. EDT, according to the official Nike site. The description that accompanies these cool babies reads as follows:
"The original 'Carmine' Air Jordan 6 colorway is back, with a visible Air-Sole unit in the heel, a lace toggle to keep your laces cinched tight and distinctive clear rubber outsole elements. The 'Carmine' was the first Jordan 6 to have colored panels on the upper."
They always manage to make them shoes sound so mine-able, don't they? So, where and how do you own a pair of these slick new footwear?
"This Wednesday and Thursday, select Foot Locker and House of Hoops retailers will be handing out raffle tickets for a chance to purchase the "Carmine" VIs. All winners of the sweepstakes will be notified on Friday and can stop by the store on Saturday to purchase the sneakers," Complex announced.

Footlocker.com will also be selling these shoes on Saturday at $170, which is the same price as the ones sold on the Nike site. You can also get them at Jordan Brand retailers.
