Last weekend, Rihanna had a small incident in which she accidentally broke the cellphone of the President of the Police Commission in Los Angeles, Steve Soboroff.

The "Diamonds" singer went to an NBA playoffs game between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Thunders last Friday, May 9, and sat next to Soboroff, so they both took the opportunity to take a selfie together, according to website specialized in entertainment news E! Online.

However, when they took the picture, the popular singer had a small accident and the cellphone of the President of the Police Commission fell the ground and the screen broke, rendering it useless.

The popular singer was so embarassed with what had happened that she decided to donate nothing less than $25,000 dollars to the fund for deceased cadets and officers, according to the website of Fox Sports.

Later that day, Rihanna publicly apologized on her official Twitter account and wrote: "I'm sorry I broke your phone @SteveSoborofff :)" But that was not all, Soboroff, who told Rihanna that the Los Angeles Police Department was going through difficult times after the loss of five of its officers in the last two months, told the media that the broken phone would be auctioned off to raise funds for the LAPD. The broken iPhone is signed by the singer and is currently auctioned on eBay. All the profits from the sale will be destined to the police cadets program and the Memorial Foundation of the Los Angeles Police, confirmed KTLA network.

"Sorry I love LAPD. Rihanna," is the message written with a black sharpie on the back of the cellphone.
