French businessman François-Henri Pinault and his wife, Mexican actress Salma Hayek, are on the list published by the newspaper The Sunday Times of the 50 richest in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Occupying the 41st spot on the list, the couple joins the richest people with $4 billion dollars between them, a fortune they have amassed for their successful performances in the industries of fashion and cinema.

The Sunday Times' list is comprised mostly by foreigners living in the country. In 2014, the list is headed by the Hinduja brothers, born in India and currently living in England with a fortune of $20 billion dollars, fruit of their businesses in the industries of oil, vehicles, real estate and the media, according to CNN Expansión, followed by the Duke of Westminster, Gerald Grosvenor, his son, Count of Grosvenor and godfather of the first son of the Dukes of Cambridge, the owner of the Chelsea Football Club, Roman Abramovich and Sir Richard Branson.

There are 14 women in the list of the United Kingdom's richest, led by Kirsten Bertarelli, who, accompanied by her husband Ernesto Bertarelli, owner of the huge pharmeceutical Serono, who are on the fifth position.

Salma Hayek is considered one of the Mexican personalities with the most international renown for her success as a Hollywood actress, with Frida (2002) being her most important role on the big screen , for which she received a nomination to Best Actress during the Academy Awards.

It was during 2006, in an exhibit in Venice, Italy, where she met the president of the luxury items group Pinault-Printemps-Redoute, François-Henri Pinault, with whom she had a daughter in 2007, Valentina Paloma Pinault-Hayek.
