Univisión network, the main Hispanic network in the United States, has placed itself in the taste of the Latino audience throughout its history for its wide array of information and entertainment among which are telenovelas, the company's main weapon for the Upfront to be carried out in the third week of May in the city of New York.
The telenovelas that Univisión broadcasts are productions of the Televisa company in Mexico, telenovelas which capture the attention of the public in prime time hours, with which its sister company in the United States seeks to conquer advertising investors and solidify its empire in the Hispanic market in the country.
Currently, Univisión broadcasts the telenovela "Lo que la vida me robó" during prime time hours, starring Angelique Boyer and Sebastián Rulli. In other hours it presents a telenovela starring Jaime Camil and Zuria Vega, "Que pobres tan ricos", "De que te quiero, te quiero" with young revelations Livia Brito and Juan Diego Covarrubias and "Por siempre mi Amor" starring Susana González and Guy Ecker which is currently in its final episodes.
For the 2014-2015 season, Univisión is preparing a feast of tears, suspense, realism and romanticism, with these new productions:
"El color de la Pasión": Starring Esmeralda Pimentel and Erick Elias. The telenovela begins with the story of three sisters who 24 years later are witness to their mistakes and failures once more, reflected upon their daughters. The daughter of Adriana Murillo, Lucía, is now about to marry and is left alone at the altar thanks to her step-sister (daughter of Rebeca, her aunt) the same situation that her mother lived years before in which due to her sister Rebeca's seduction, her fiance never arrived at the wedding.
"La Gata": A remake of the original Venezuelan telenovela of the same name which captivated the Latino audience in the 60's. With the former RBD Maite Perroni as the leading actress, and actor Daniel Arenas, La Gata narrates the story of a young woman living in a garbage dump and who is seeking to improve her life, falling in love with a rich young man who must face his family to be able to rescue Esmeralda's love.
"La Malquerida": One of the most awaited telenovelas of the year. An adaptation of a play by Jacinto Benavente, La Malquerida narrates the story of how a widowed mother finds love and marries a younger man, but he soons begins to develop feelings for her daughter. With Victoria Ruffo, Ariadne Díaz and Christian Meier, the telenovela is producer by José Alberto Castro.
