Vittorio Grigolo has announced his new album "The Romantic Hero."

"The Romantic Album" will feature a number of arias from Gounod, Meyerbeer, Massenet, Bizet, Halevy, and Offenbach.

Grigolo is a rising tenor who is considered one of the best of our time. The young singer broke into the opera world when he sang Massenet's "Manon" at the Royal Opera. Since then he has performed in the great theaters all over the world including Teatro Alla Scala, Paris Opera and the Metropolitan Opera. He debuted at La Scala at the age of 23.
The tenor recently made his Live in HD debut at the Met in Puccini's "La Boheme." The broadcast was particularly eventful because it featured Latvian soprano Kristine Opolais who replaced an ailing Anita Hartig at very late notice.
For his performances in the Puccini opera Grigolo scored rave reviews with Latinos Post stating, "Grigolo gave a trademark performance of utmost commitment. Grigolo's singing has caught a lot of attention around the world, not only for its volume but for its fullness of color."
The tenor is currently finishing a run of "La Boheme" at the Met and will next appear in Berlin for Massenet's "Werther" with Ekaterina Gubanova. He will also perform at the Royal Opera House for "La Boheme" with Angela Gheorghiu, Massimo Cavalletti, and Irina Lungu. He will also sing Gounod's "Romeo et Juliette" at the Arena di Verona with Lana Kos. Grigolo will appear at the Verbier Festival with soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek in a concert performance.
The 2014-15 season will see Grigolo once again perform at the greatest theaters in the world. He will return to the Met for a run of Offenbach's "Les Contes d'Hoffman" with Thomas Hampson, Hibla Germava, and Kate Lindsey. Yve Abel will conduct those performances and one of them will be transmitted in the Live in HD series. The young tenor will later sing Massenet's "Manon" with Diana Damrau, Nicolas Teste, Russell Braun, and Emanuel Villaume conducting.
Grigolo will also perform at the Royal Opera House in Donizetti's "L'Elisir d'Amore" alongside Bryn Terfel, Lucy Crow, and Levente Molnar. One the performances will be transmitted live in cinemas through the Royal Opera House Live in Cinemas series.
