Major game developer Ubisoft recently announced that its racing game "The Crew" will be released in autumn of this year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. News of the game's release was accompanied by a gameplay trailer video from the developer, IGN reported.

The video shows customizable cars engaged in races and police chases through populated roads in New York City, Maine, Appalachian Mountains, Mount Rushmore, Texas, Los Angeles and Monument Valley.

"The Crew" is an open-environment racing game that takes place across different areas in the United States. The missions in the game can be completed by a single player, with a group or through online co-op partnerships. The multiplayer feature of "The Crew" lets players compete online in various races and other game modes.

According to the game's website, "The Crew is a revolutionary action-driving game developed exclusively for next-gen consoles. It takes you and your friends on a reckless ride inside a massive, open-world recreation of the United States."

The game can be pre-ordered through GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and Target. The site also stated that pre-ordering the limited edition of the game comes with unlocks for various cars as well as bonus points.

It posted, "Pre-order today to receive early unlocks for the BMW Z4, Dodge Ram SRT 10 and Mini Cooper S - all with their own sets of custom and performance parts. The Limited Edition also includes 10,000 bonus Crew Credits."

"The Crew" along with "Watch Dogs" were originally set to hit the market before March 31 but were delayed by the developer in order to give them enough time to improve the games, according to a previous article on IGN.

Ubisoft posted on its blog, "We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality. As we got closer to the release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune each detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience."
