Retired Seattle Seahawk Terrell Owens has his sights set on becoming the first black bachelor on the ABC reality series, "The Bachelor." The series has been on air for 18 seasons and apparently, Owens is an avid fan of the show.
He said, "I'm prepped to do bigger and better things with my life" he added, "I am looking for someone special," writes NESN. The NFL wide receiver was formerly married to Rachel Snider in January 2014 but they divorced two weeks later.
According to a Fox Sports, Owens believes that he should be the next frontman and can do the show a lot of good. He said that after watching the show for several seasons, there has not been a black bachelor yet and he intends to be the first. He hinted on the possibility while shooting scenes for "Celebrity Apprentice", the reality TV show by Donald Trump.
"The Bachelor" has received a lot of criticisms, saying that the storylines and conversations are fake and that the couples are bound to separate after a few weeks or months. Nevertheless, there are still thousands of fans who anticipate the next season.
In a report by The Urban Daily, the NFL star retired when he was released by the Seahawks before the 2012 season began. He is the fifth all-time in career touchdowns with 156 and sixth all-time in receptions with 1,078. He played 15 seasons in the NFL and was frequently involved in feuds and controversies in every team he joined.
TMZ has a video of T.O. expressing his intent to join the reality dating show. His companion said in the video that he will talk to the show's producer. Owens responded by facing the camera then saying, "You heard that? From two white guys? I should be the bachelor. Holler back!" He speculated why the show never had a black bachelor and said that he has the experience and taste to fit the role perfectly.
