The promotional video for Maite Perroni's upcoming telenovela was published this week by Televisa, showing the former RBD along with Daniel Arenas, who under the production of Nathalie Lartilleux will give life to "La Gata".
In this remake of a telenovela from 1968, Perroni will play a trash collector with a similar appearance to Thalía's in the famous telenovela "María la del Barrio".
Filming for "La Gata" began in February, with the first scenes taking place at a garbage dump in Bordo de Xochiaca in Chalco, State of Mexico. Among garbage and surrounded by extreme poverty, the production team for "La Gata" decided to use the location to recreate and show "real and credible" scenes on the poverty in which many Mexicans live.
"This is a story about work, about improvement and overcoming. If you're going to tell a story you have to know what your character is feeling and the reality of our country," Maite Perroni told "Televisa Espectáculos," according toUnivsión.
The cast for Nathalie Lartilleux's new telenovela is complimented by Laura Zapata, Manuel Ojeda, Leticia Perdión and Erika Buenfil.
Through its Twitter account, Televisa uploaded the promotional video accompanied by pictures which show a Maite far from being the sweet teenager of her other roles. Maite, with unkempt hair, tattered clothes and dirty skin is on a garbage carriage being pulled by a horse, with a challenging and unfriendly gaze.
