When news of the Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin divorce hit the news, so many reports and rumors surfaced making it difficult for fans and interested parties to differentiate the truth from fabrication.
Earlier this week People Magazine claimed that sources told the news outlet that prior to the divorce, the superstar couple were "on and off" at times, and during their 10-year marriage were having an "open" relationship. Further, the article claimed that Gwyneth knew and didn't care if Chris was playing around.
The DailyMail UK reported that Page Six of the New York Post alleges that Martin had an affair with the unnamed woman, while married to Paltrow. The soon-to-be ex-husband of the "Iron Man" actress met the unnamed woman in 2011 during Coldplay's performance in NBC.
Perezhilton cites that according to a knowing insider:
"He had an affair with a woman who was backstage and was part of an entourage. Everyone was talking about it because he was openly flirting with her at one of the show after-parties."
Tight-lipped and immensely private, Chris Martin has finally broken his silence through his spokesperson Murray Chalmers. Addressing the recent rumors that the musician has been cheating on his wife with a "Saturday Night Live' backstage assistant, Martin has completely denied the adulterous rumour.
According to Mirror UK, Chalmers has said: "This is completely untrue, we totally deny it."
The 37-year-old Coldplay singer and his wife, Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow announced their divorce earlier this month and have two kids together, Apple, 9, and Moses, 8.
There are been multiple infidelity accusations on both sides, meaning this is not the first report of cheating on the part of Chris Martin. There have been previous reports in the past that linked Martin to romantic relationships with Alexa Chung and Kate Bosworth.
