After hearing reports that Justin Bieber and Austin Mahone have teamed up at the studio just recently, we now learned that the young artists also are spending their play time together.

But could their one-on-one basketball game be romantic rivalry in disguise? A who-wins-gets-Selena-Gomez kind of deal?

"Dr. James Naismith is rolling over in his grave...because the beloved sport he invented was desecrated in Miami yesterday when Justin Bieber and Austin Mahone put aside their Selena Gomez beef and played pick up basketball...in LEATHER PANTS!!!" TMZ reported.

"The two heartthrobs were not dressed like they were ready for athletic competition as Austin even donned a pair of leather pants while shooting hoops. Justin had a grey T-shirt on, vinyl grey joggers, and a pair of black slip-on Vans sneakers," The Daily Mail noted. "He accessorized the look with a large silver chain necklace and a black cap with the logo for the Miami Heat professional basketball team on it."

"Austin - often referred to as 'the next Justin Bieber' - completed his look with a black top, Lebron James signature Nike shoes, gold chain, and a grey cap on his head."

Perhaps some of you may wonder what's so wrong about the two playing a bit of ball during their break. That's because both guys have been linked to the pretty singer-actress. Austin had been spotted with Sel at Disneyland last year, Hollywood Life noted, sparking rumors that the two were dating. Biebs, as many now know, has just gotten back with off-and-on love Selena.

"The two young men did not seem afraid to go at each other as Justin even played defense on Austin at certain points of the game," TheDaily Mail observed.

Hmmm, a rivalry in the making? Perhaps not.

The two heartthrobs were not the only ones playing. Their friends later joined the "friendly" match. It appeared both have put aside whatever romantic "differences" they may have.

On that note, when might their collabo get to see the light of day?
