On August 29, Samsung finally showed the world what its anticipated Galaxy Note 2 handset was all about. It's a technical beast, no doubt, and for those of you interested in owning this 5.55-inch behemoth, you might be disappointed to know that AT&T is probably the only carrier that will offer Samsung's tablet this fall.

There is no official release date or pricing information available from Samsung on the Galaxy Note 2, but the handset should be available for purchase by October.

The original Galaxy Note was launched on AT&T and remained exclusive to the carrier for almost one year before T-Mobile recently started offering the handset as well. Other major carriers such as Verizon and Sprint passed on the device.

So it's safe to say that AT&T will be carrying the Galaxy Note 2 when it launches soon. As for everybody else - well, it might take some time for them to offer the Galaxy Note 2.

Carrier T-Mobile only began offering the original Galaxy Note just a few weeks ago so the carrier won't be offering the Galaxy Note 2 anytime soon. If they did, you can bet that T-Mobile customers who just paid full price for the original Galaxy Note will be up in arms. Instead, T-Mobile is the only one other than AT&T I believe will carry the Galaxy Note 2, but not until 2013.

Verizon will most likely not carry the Galaxy Note 2. The carrier has an upcoming press conference to reveal a new Motorola phone, an imminent iPhone 5 launch, and is also expecting a 5-inch phablet from HTC. Verizon's attention seems to be focused elsewhere, and it's unlikely the company will squeeze in a Galaxy Note 2 launch on top of everything.

Sprint passed on the original Galaxy Note and has made no moves to indicate it is interested in the sequel. The company is focused on launching the iPhone 5, as evidenced by its discounting of the iPhone 4S.

There is no indication that other carriers like U.S. Cellular or Metro PCS are even interested in the Galaxy Note 2.

The Galaxy Note 2 also comes with a quad-core processor, Android Jelly Bean, and the S Pen stylus.
