Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 has made its debut at the IFA 2012 show in Berlin, Germany, and many are now waiting for it to get be on sale in October.

With every device, there will be specifications that one might not understand, but Latinos Post is aiming to help you familiarize with terms such as Super AMOLED HD, Jelly Bean, and mAh.

Network: The Galaxy Note 2 is available for both 3G and 4G LTE.

The two terms are from the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), an intergovernmental organization that develops telecommunications. This organization is dominant, that it is even recognized as a United Nations agency in 1947.

3G is an ITU specification, and it stands for third generation. With 3G, the bandwidth is increased to 384 kilobites (kbps), which measures data transfer speeds. 4G is the fourth generation and enables data and streaming multimedia at higher speeds. The Long Term Evolution, or LTE, was developed by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) that helps provides an increase of speeds up to 10 times more compared to 3G networks.

Processor: The Galaxy Note 2 has a 1.6GHz quad-core processor.

First, GHz is abbreviated for gigahertz. One GHz represents one billion cycles per second and controls how powerful speed goes. As for quad-core processor, according to Webopedia, it means the following:

"[Quad-core] includes two separate dual-core dies, where dial-core means a CPU that includes two complete execution cores per physical processor), installed together in one CPU package. In this set-up cores 1 and 2 would share a memory cache, as would cores 3 and 4. If core 1 or 2 needs to communicate with 3 or 4, it is an external communication, usually via the frontside bus"

Display/Resolution: The new Galaxy Note comes in at 5.5-inches with a Super AMOLED HD screen at 1,280x720 resolution.

According to Samsung, the Super AMOLED HD screen will provide, "breathtaking visuals and crystal clear detail." And Mobile Burn defines it as having at least 720p HD resolution.

The resolution indicates the number of dots (pixels) per inch (DPI). Therefore, if the Galaxy Note 2's resolution is 1,280x720, then there are 921,600 dots per square inch. This also means the device will be capable of displaying 1,280 distinctive dots, or pixels, on each of the 720 lines.

Operating System: The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will be the operating system for the Galaxy Note 2, an upgrade form the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Operating system, or OS, is the software platform that runs mobile devices and helps programs run sufficiently. It is considered the most important program that runs a device. The Jelly Bean is the nickname given to the Android operating system and it has new features and improvements from its predecessor, the Ice Cream Sandwich.

Previous Android OS nicknames include Cupcake, Donut, Éclair, FroYo, Gingerbread, and Honeycomb.

Camera: Two cameras will be available on the Galaxy Note 2: A rear-facing camera with eight-megapixels and a front-facing camera with 1.9-megapixels.

A megapixel means one million pixels. A pixel is short for "picture element" and is a single point in a graphic image. The quality of the pixels varies on the display's resolution. The rear-facing camera will therefore have eight millions pixels, and the front-facing camera will have 1.9 million pixels.

Battery Capacity: The Galaxy Note 2 uses 3,100mAh battery.

Short for Milliampere-hour, mAh indicates how batteries are rated for capacity power. The higher the mAh, then the stronger and healthier the battery of the device will be.  As the Galaxy Note 2 has a mAh of 3,100, Samsung touted, "users can enjoy multimedia content, always be productive on the go, and capture ideas whenever, wherever without suffering from power limitation.

S Pen: This is the feature that Samsung spent heavy emphasis on during its IFA 2012 presentation on Aug. 29.

The S Pen, on the Galaxy Note 2 will enable the S Note, S Planner, S Pen Keeper, Quick Command, Easy Clip, Photo Note, Paper Artist, Air View, Popup Note, Popup Play, Shape Match, Formula Match, Idea Visualizer, and email with hand-writing integration features.

The S Pen is a type of wand/pen that has been "designed for the perfect grip," according to Samsung.

This feature has been designated to enhance the touch screen features of the device. Users can use the S Pen to draw and write on various features listed above, either for calendar notices, photo comments, or animation.
