Game developer Respawn recently pulled a prank on "Titanfall" gamers by releasing a teaser trailer for a new DLC on April 1, IGN reported. The latest expansion pack featured Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots from the "Transformers".

The video starts with a voiceover of a soldier talking about the devastation of war, ended by a famous line from the "Transformers" films, "We must look to the skies." Then, as the video fades to black, a robotic voice, which is very similar to that of Optimus, says "Standby for Prime".

Viewers then see Optimus Prime dropping from the sky. What follows next are what appear to be in-game footages of Optimus engaging in full combat. In some scenes, Optimus can be seen carrying his huge energy battle axe and takes down a Titan.

The leader of the Autobots even displayed a new ability in the video with a use of a cloaking device. And, like the other Titans in the game, Optimus can be boarded and controlled by a pilot.

But as Cinemablend pointed out, Respawn made sure that it did not violate any of Hasbro's copyright laws regarding the use of Optimus Prime in the fake DLC trailer. Although he looks like Prime, there is something definitely off about his appearance. His disproportionate body featured a large head, awkward-looking arms, a small torso and skinny legs.

Also, Optimus in the DLC never referred to himself as "Optimus Prime", but only as "Prime".

But despite the appearance of the bootleg version of Optimus in the fake DLC, fans of the game couldn't help but drool over the mind-blowing addition to "Titanfall".

One Reddit user posted, "Why do April's fool jokes have to be that cool. They're all saying awesome things are coming. You know what? I want awesome things in games, this is one of them. This is not a good joke, this is what they should f****** do."
