Leaked images across the internet have been showcasing iPhone 5 components such as the larger front panel and its smaller dock. Now, French website Nowhereelse.fr has published photos of an alleged iPhone 5 in comparison to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3.
Keep in mind, these are not official Apple photos, and Apple has not even confirmed the existence of the iPhone 5. Apple is expected to reveal the iPhone 5 at a September 12 press conference and have the handsets in consumers' hands by September 21.
The photos seem to show a fully assembled iPhone 5. It is noticeably taller than the iPhone 4 or iPhone 3, but does not seem to be wider. This would support the 4-inch screen claims that would give the next-gen iPhone a bigger screen capable of 16:9 viewing.
The iPhone 5 is also thinner than both the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3, according to the images.
The pictures also show that the the volume and mute buttons will be on the left side of the device, and a SIM card slot on the right.
The iPhone 5 also seems to have the two-tone backing that was rumored earlier. If these pictures are accurate, then rumors about the iPhone 5 so far have been fairly accurate.
Underneath the hood, the iPhone 5 should either feature a powerful dual-core or quad-core processor and 4G capabilities. It will also help launch iOS 6, Apple's next iteration of its mobile operating system.
The bigger screen and the smaller 9-pin dock will make this version of the iPhone the biggest overhaul in years, and also one of the most antcipated electronics device of all time.
