It was obvious to guests of Ciara and fiance, rapper Future, what the gender of their baby is at a themed birthday party thrown by friend LaLa Anthony's house in Beverly Hills. Daily Mail said the guests of the mother-to-be noticed that the decorations, and even the birthday cake, confirmed what everyone suspected: the couple are having a baby boy.
The report also said that guests were aware of the gender already, as the gifts that were carried into Anthony's home were for boys, from huge ride-in blue toy cars to pirate's hats and plush toys.
According to photos taken at the event and eventually shared by Ciara on Instagram, the cake was two-tiered and featured a blue-colored topper with the letters of the word "BABY LOVE". Front and center was a huge yet dainty bow. At the bottom of the cake was a hard icing placard with the name the future parents had already decided for the baby: Wilburn.
After months of speculation, Ciara decided to reveal that she was expecting in January during a visit of talk show "The View." New York Daily News said the announcement was three months following her engagement to the Atlanta-born rapper. Her comments on the show was an obvious sign that the would-be parents already knew what the baby's gender was -- she told the show hosts, "I had a preference at first and when I was told what it was, I felt like it's going to be what it's supposed to be. It was definitely different and my fiance got what he wanted. I'm excited."
Fashion & Style said the singer welcomed the pregnancy more as it was a break from her signature skin-baring, abs-showing outfits. She said in an interview, "I kind of want to take the theme that 'baggy is the new sexy.' I don't know, I just want to be comfortable. When I can't wear heels anymore, I won't wear heels. My Jordans and my Uggs will be my best friends, but it's all about being comfortable. Of course, I like to get sexy, but I believe that pregnancy within itself is sexy and I don't believe I have to show you that I still can be. I kind of like it actually not being about abs and all that stuff. I really love this phase that I'm going through in my life and I just want to live in it. I just want to be a 'mommy-to-be.'"
