Apparently, people still aren't over Shakira and Rihanna's collaboration, immortalized in the track 'Cant Remember to Forget You.' In a recent interview with The Sun, the hip-shaking singer was asked about her experience working with the Bajan beauty.
"She is still the girl next door - approachable and humble. We are friends and text each other, but our lives are in different geographic places. She's quite a busy woman and so am I," the mother-of-one said.
She also shared that her fashion forward friend is "a big diva." Despite this, she insisted, the 26-year-old singer remains "very down to earth." They still even exchange text messages to this day, although their hectic lives kept them from meeting up as often as they want.
She also revealed how she got the idea of working with another female artist on the said track. She shared that partner Gerard Pique, FC Barcelona center-back, banned her from doing music videos with men, Life & Style Weekly reported. This prompted her to make a video that featured just her and RiRi.
"He approved! I played the [Can't Remember to Forget You] video for him and asked him if it was too much," she noted. "But he said he thought it was great and elegant. He loved it," the 36-year-old star enthused.
"It's more than implied in our relationship that I can't do videos like I used to. It's out of the question, which I like, by the way. I like that he protects his turf and he values me, in a way that the only person that he would ever let graze my thigh would be Rihanna," she said in another interview with Billboard.
Well, he is, after all, a very competitive athlete, Shakira. He wouldn't want any other man trying to score a goal with his soulmate and the mother of his child.
Currently, Shakira is one of the judges on the U.S. edition of The Voice.
