Wisconsin Representative and Mitt Romney's running mate Paul Ryan spoke during the penultimate night of the Republican National Convention (RNC).
Ryan stated that America needs a turn-around and it will be done with Romney.
Ryan did not take long to attack President Barack Obama and Democrats, acknowledging the negative ads and lack of transparency.
He would quickly step back to discuss his family. He introduced his "best friend" and "wife" Janna and his children, all sitting at a special section with the audience.
Ryan stated when Romney contacted him for the VP position, the Wisconsin Congressman said, "Let's get this done, and it's exactly what we're going to do."
He then went back on the attack on Obama, noting one in six Americans are in poverty, and that half can't find a job based on what they studied in school.
The speech was interrupted, although it might have gone unnoticed to Ryan as he continued through applause by the Republican crowd when a woman was shown holding a pink flag. It's unsure at the time of this report on what the banner was displaying.
"The greatest threat...is Obamacare."
Ryan spoke about Medicare, and said he will "honor it" for the sake of many Americans such as his mother and others in need of it.
The mention of Medicare a topic many was worried about Ryan discussing as he has previously imposed for cuts in Medicare.
"What is missing is leadership in the White House," said Ryan, which garnered a rapturous reception from the audience.
Ryan said it is time for Obama to take responsibility.
As expected, the economy was then discussed. Ryan serves as chair of the House Budget Committee, and noted how much the country's debt has increased since Obama was inaugurated in 2008.
"Here we are, 16 trillion dollars in debt and still he does nothing," said Ryan, adding we need to stop spending money the country no longer has.
Ryan said he and Romney will solve the economic problems.
"We don't have that much time," said Ryan. "We will have America creating wealth again."
Ryan stated the Republican ticket has a plan that would gain 12 million jobs for the next four years.
Ryan says Americans have not failed, but it is the "leaders that have failed you."
The vice presidential candidate noted that despite the generation gap between Romney and himself, they both "grew up in the heartland," therefore understand the common American.
Ryan continued promoting Romney as a "faithful" man who believe in every life there is goodness.
Ryan ended stated he and Romney will take responsibility and reapply founding principles and "we can do this, whatever your political party, let's join together for the sake of the country."
