Lovely actress Eva Longoria will venture into the horror genre for the first time in the movie "Visions", produced by Blumhouse, specialists in this genre, American media reported.

The new project for the "Desperate Housewives" star will be directed by genre veteran director Kevin Greutert, famous for his work on the "Saw" series, one of the most lucrative horror franchises in recent times.

According to information published by EFE, reported Fox News Latino, Eva Longoria has joined a first-class cast that includes Isla Fisher, Anson Mount and Gilliam Jacobs, while actor Jim Parsons, from "The Big Bang Theory" is in talks to join the project.

The new movie, the first horror genre movie the American actress of Mexican origins participates in, tells the story of a pregnant woman who moves along with her husband to a house in the country, where she will suffer visions of spectral figures.

Longoria's role will be that of a friend to the protagonist, a fun, fashion loving woman that disagrees with her friend's decisions, according to specialized website Deadline.

Besides this new movie, Eva Longoria has various film projects such as the movie "Frontera" where shares screen time with actors Michael Peña and Ed Harris; as well as the directing debut of Mexican actor Demián Bichir: "Refugio".

Demián Bichir was nominated to an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the movie "A Better Life", and his debut as a director will be shot in locations in Mexico and New Orleans. The cast is comprised of Mexican actress Ludwika Paleta, Eva Longoria and Bichir himself, reported Deadline.

Eva Longoria is also a part of the drama "Any Day", a movie starring her, Sean Bean and Kate Walsh.
