Warner Bros. has released the new trailer to "Transcendence."
The new trailer reveals more about of the plot and shows a number of special effects and action sequences.
The new trailer comes a day after the company released a poster that showed lead actor Johnny Depp in silhouette connected to wires.
"Transcendence" tells the story of a terminally-ill scientist who downloads his mind into a computer. This grants him power beyond his wildest dreams, and soon he becomes unstoppable.
The film also stars Rebecca Hall ("The Prestige," "Closed Circuit"), Kate Mara ("House of Cards"), Morgan Freeman ("Batman Begins," "Million Dollar Baby," "Invictus"), Paul Bettany ("Angels and Demons"), Cillian Murphy ("Inception," "Batman Begins") and the Black List script was written by Jack Paglen ("Prometheus 2"). Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan and his wife Emma Thomas are serving as Executive Producers while Alcon Entertainment and DMG Entertainment produced the film.
Pfister is best known as for his work as a cinematographer on all of Christopher Nolan's films except "Following." He garnered Academy Award nominations for his work on "Batman Begins," "The Prestige," "The Dark Knight" and won for his work on "Inception." The cinematographer has also worked on "Moneyball," "The Dark Knight Rises," "Insomnia," "Memento," "The Italian Job," and "Rustin." "Transcendence" marks his directorial debut.
Depp was last seen in "The Lone Ranger" and "The Rum Diary." He is slated to star in "Into the Woods" with Meryl Streep, "London Fields," "Alice in Wonderland 2," and "Pirates of the Caribban: Dead Men Tell No Tales."
"Transcendence" will be released by Warner Bros. on April 18, 2014.
