RADiUS-TWC has acquired North American rights to "Paradise Lost."

The film, starring Benicio Del Toro, Josh Hutcherson, and Brady Corbet, tells the story of a Young surfer named Nick (Hutcherson) who thinks all his dreams have come true when he goes to visit his brother in Colombia. Against an idyllic backdrop of blue lagoons and white beaches, he falls madly in love with Maria (Claudia Traisac) a beautiful Colombian girl and everything seems perfect until he meets her uncle, Pablo Escobar (Del Toro).

Del Toro will play the notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar and the film was directed by first-time feature filmmaker Andrea Di Stefano.

"We have been tracking this project for months and could not be more energized by Benicio's outstanding performance and the star making turn by Claudia Traisac. Di Stefano has delivered the goods and we feel privileged to be working alongside him on this fantastic film," the company said in a press release.

Deadline reported that deal was made for $2 million and the company is planning on releasing the movie at the end of the year.

The deal marks the third film recently acquired by Radius TWC. Earlier in the week it was announced that company would distribute Salma Hayek's "Everly" and the Danish Horror movie "When Animals Dream." Radius parent company the Weinstein Company also picked up "The Imiatation Game" starring Keira Knightley and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Radius TWC is having one their best years with several of the company's films nominated for Academy Awards in the Best Documentary category, including "20 Feet From Stardom" and "Cutie and the Boxer."
