The American version of the reality show "The X Factor" will not be getting a fourth season in 2014, the show's producers announced.
After the last two seasons didn't reach the expected ratings, Fox network decided not to renovate the contract of the reality show created by Simon Cowell.
According to MTV's website, Fox announced on Friday, Feb. 7 that Simon Cowell would return to the show's native version in the United Kingdom, after The X Factor concluded its run on American television after just 3 seasons which did not reach the ratings success that they had hoped for.
"I've had a fantastic time in the last 12 years, in both 'The X Factor' and 'American Idol'. And I've also been lucky enough to find incredible talent in the shows, I've always been incredibly welcomed by the American public opinion (most of the time). Last year, for a series of reasons, I had to take the decision to return to the British version of 'The X Factor' in 2014. So, for now, I'm back in the United Kingdom and I want to thank Fox for being an incredible collaborator and I also want to thank everyone who supported my shows. America, see you soon," Cowell told MTV.
And even if for Fox the official reason to cancel The X Factor is Simon Cowell's departure, who was the main judge in the show, what's true is that several specialized sources have highlighted the scarce success the show had in its last two seasons.
According to specialized source E! News, despite gathering a panel of stars and personalities like Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul, the show never managed to get back to the American public's good graces.
Paulina Rubio is Affected by the Cancellation of The X Factor
The X Factor stood out since its first season for having a gallery of judges of the first order; however, one of the great surprises for Latino audiences was including Paulina Rubio in the third season.
Paulina Rubio was a judge for the reality show during 2013 and during her short participation in the show she shared screen time with artists like Demi Lovato and Kelly Rowland.
