Summit Entertainment has announced that an all-new trailer to "Divergent" will premiere on Feb. 4
The trailer will premiere on the website Buzzfeed at 8 a.m. EST and on the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" show at 11:35 p.m EST. The news comes a day after the Super Bowl when the company released a new teaser in which Shailene Woodley's character Tris is seen being attacked by birds. The teaser also shows Theo James and Woodley sharing a number of scenes.
The teaser also came out with a promotional poster that shows James and Woodley in a cubed box.
The new film is the latest young adult novel turned into a live action film and Summit hopes to turn it into a big franchise. The studio has already announced the release date for the next two installments "Allegiant" and "Insurgent." Based on early tracking for "Divergent," the film looks like it could be a massive box office hit.
"Divergent" tells the story of Beatrice Prior (Tris), a teenager with a special mind, who finds her life threatened when an authoritarian leader seeks to exterminate her kind in her effort to seize control of their divided society.
The film is being directed by Neil Burger ("The Illusionist) and was written by Evan Daugherty ("Killing Season," "Snow White and the Huntsman"). "Divegent" will also star Miles Teller ("Divegernt"), Maggie Q ("Priest"), Zoe Kravitz ("X-Men: First Class," "After Earth"), and Kate Winslet ("Labor Day," "Revolutionary Road"). The movie is slated to be released to be released on March 21, 2014.
