Argentinian footballer Lionel Messi and Swiss tennis player Roger Federer, two of the most successful sports figures in recent times, have come together for a marketing campaign for a renowned safety razors brand where they star in a funny meeting in the final match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The hilarious commercial in which the two sports stars are featured starts off with both of them in the locker room as they shave. Their razors have the flag of certain countries which helps viewers locate the athletes in the sports where they usually dominate.
Sumo, Tennis, Formula 1 and Hockey on ice are some of the fun sports scenarios in which Messi and Federer face off for the promotional campaign.
Finally, honoring the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup to be celebrated in Brazil, the commercial ends with both stars confronting each other in a soccer match, where Messi kicks a powerful shot which Federer attempts to stop.
The campaign was ordered by safety razor company Gillette, who had previously produced a spot titled "If I were Brazilian", in which the tennis player is dressed as a soccer player wearing the jersey of the Brazilian team in one of the funniest commercials of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
According to the Daily Mail, the Argentinian player recently returned to the field after a problematic injury in his thigh, while Federer, the 17-time winner of the Tennis Grand Slam, has become Gillette's image in recent months.
