Davdi O. Russell has found his next project with Jennifer Lawrence possibly signing on as well.
Deadline is reporting that the "American Hustle" director is in negotiations with Fox 2000 to come on board an untitled biopic about Joy Mangano, the inventor of the Miracle Mop.
The director has already indicated that he is looking to cast Lawrence as Mangano. If she signs on for the film it would be her third collaboration with the director after "Silver Linings Playbook" and "American Hustle." The actress was nominated for the Academy Award for both films.
The film will be produced by John Davis and John Fox for Fox-based Davis Entertainment along with Ken Mok. The script has been written by "Bridesmaids" scribe Annie Mumolo.
The film will tell the story of Mangano, who invented the Miracle Mop and Huggable Hangers.
Lawrence had her breakout in 2010 for her work in the Sundance winner "Winter's Bone." She was later seen in "Like Crazy," "The Beaver," and "House at the End of the Street." She is currently shooting the "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" in Atlanta and is attached to star in two Gary Ross films: "East of Eden" and "Burial Rites." She will next be seen in the upcoming "Serena" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past."
Russell is best known for his work in "Three Kings," "The Fighter," and "Silver Linings Playbook." His latest movie, "American Hustle," was nominated for 10 Oscars, including all four acting categories and Russell for best director and original screenplay.
