It all started with a simple, seemingly harmless tweet. Or rather, a photo shared on Twitter.

Liam Payne's older sister Ruth tweeted a couple of photos of Loki, the dog he and former flame Danielle Peazer got when they were still a couple.

In reaction to her canine snaps, Twitter user @reeNIALL asked whether Danielle can still get to see the dog, J-14 reported. Tagged in the tweet, Peazer answered "no."

In response, Ruth then decided to give a little shout out to the One Direction member's ex girlfriend, in a fit of nostalgia: "@DaniellePeazer you can organise to see loki anytime, just let me know."

Now this message, according to Sugarscape, kicked off a slew of Payzer-themed responses from One Directioners actively watching her feed.

Many of the 1D fans following Ruth reacted with "aws" and "omgs" aplenty. Some, however, reacted with sarcasm, saying that it's a dog being talked about, not a person. One user, @skankbitch2006, even commented that Liam's sister made it sound like "u need visitation rights for a dog."

Some Directioners went so far as to "demand" a Payzer reunion for Loki's sake - which ticked off Ruth.

"F**ked off once again with twitter, been told i have no heart bc i help look after my brothers dog , noone is banned from seeing anyone," she tweeted heatedly.

"Liam bought the dog when he was single he then got back with his gf of that time and now there not. makes everything awk," she explained further.

So, he got Loki the Dog when he was still single. Why did you offer Dani visitation rights if that's the case then, Ruth? No wonder the Payzer talk got resuscitated!

However, the singer's older sis managed to straighten out things and "shut down" talks of a romantic reunion with this tweet: "because hes currently with a girl called sophia, shes lovely maybe people should give her a chance."

Okay, so there's no barrier to Dani visiting cute Loki and that the pooch's presence doesn't mean Liam and his ex- are getting back together. And that Ruth is supportive of his famous brother's choice of girlfriend.
