A week ago, we wrote a piece detailing a few potential countries that Rockstar could use for inspiration for "Grand Theft Auto 6." A number of the commentators noted that "GTA" was rooted in American culture and would likely lose its identity if its next installment were set in another country.

With this in mind, we will now take a look at what U.S. cities could be utilized for inspiration. Los Angeles and New York have been done to death while San Francisco, Las Vegas and Miami were used for other installments as well. Here are a few cities that could be utilized for the next installment of the controversial franchise.

New Orleans

New Orleans has been in the spotlight over the last few years for a number of reasons. Obviously the devastation of Hurricane Katrina is the main reason for the cities' prominence. However, New Orleans has slowly built itself up as a growing city as a number of industries (such as the film industry) are making their way there. Rockstar could certainly take advantage of the cities' recent history for its new game. Some might think it insensitive, but when has Rockstar cared about that in regards to GTA?

Boston or the New England Region

New York has been done in two separate games, but it is rather surprising that Rockstar has not opted for one of the most historic regions in U.S. history. There is certainly a plethora of history in a city like Boston that the video game publisher could take advantage of. Why not make fun of the sports culture in Boston for example?

Washington D.C.

It is actually shocking that this franchise has not made its way to the nation's capital just yet, especially with Rockstar's passion for satirizing all things American. Why not go all out on politicians for one installment? Why not recreate and even demolish the American political system? There is certainly a tremendous amount of untapped potential in a Rockstar version of Washington D.C.

Other possibilities

Why not go back to Vice City, San Fierro or Las Venturas? Maybe the latter is too small for a full-blown game, but what about the other two? Why not go to Texas and take a look at the immigration situation?

What U.S. city would you like to see recreated in GTA 6?
