Get ready to go on the dumbest adventures as Harry and Lloyd are back for "Dumb and Dumber To". Director Peter Farrelly even boasts that his upcoming movie could the "best movie of all time."
Farrelly's bold proclamation was originally posted on his Reddit account after a user asked the director for updates regarding the sequel. He answered, "Yes! We just finished shooting, don't want to brag, but it could be the best movie of all time. Seriously though, we're thrilled with it and are trying to get the studio to push the release date up. We can't wait for you to see it!"
Originally, "Dumb and Dumber To" is set for release on November 14 of this year, according to the Hollywood Reporter. But since Farelly mentioned that they're trying to get an earlier release date, fans are suggesting for a summer comedy film.
As to how the film could be the "best movie of all time", perhaps celebrity cameo appearances could make it possible. The Rolling Stone reports fans might see Rob Riggle, Rachel Melvin, Laurie Holden, Steven Tom, Kathleen Turner, and "The Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence in the film.
However, in an article on MovieFone, Farrelly commented that many of the names included in the movie's list of guest appearances are wrong.
He said, "We have some of the greatest cameos in film history in 'Dumb and Dumber To'. However, we want to keep them as a surprise. I will say this, some of the names I've seen bandied about are incorrect. But you won't be disappointed."
It seems that Farrelly's covert army of celebrity cameos is his secret weapon for turning his sequel into a success.
"Dumb and Dumber To" is the sequel to the 1994 movie "Dumb and Dumber". The upcoming film reunites Jim Carrey's Lloyd and "The Newsroom" star Jeff Daniels' Harry as the two idiotic bestfriends go on a road trip in search of the latter's long-lost daughter.
