Chandler and Monica are back! Well, not exactly. However, Matthew Perry did take a little trip down to "Cougar Town" to visit his old friend, Courteney Cox.
The Huffington Post reports the former "Friends" stars and on-screen husband and wife shared a moment together during the second episode of the show's fifth season which aired last January 14.
For those who missed it, here's a Youtube clip to give you an idea of what happened.
In the episode, Cox's character Jules got into a fender-bender situation with a billionaire named Sam, played by Perry. Upon seeing the attractive Jules and seeing that there was no wedding ring on her finger, Sam asked her out on a date.
Their accident-induced meeting ended up with Sam asking for Jules' hand in marriage through an epically-organized flash mob.
As a gracious tribute to "Friends", Sam called Cox's character "Monica" in one of the scenes in the episode.
The episode, titled "Like a Diamond", was directed by Brian Van Holt, who is known to play Bobby Cobb, the technically homeless and slacker ex-husband of Cox's character Jules in the sitcom.
Yahoo! TV sat down and talked with Van Holt and asked about his experience working with the "Friends" jester, Chandler Bing.
He said, "Thank God I had Matthew, I got really lucky. To direct Matthew Perry and work together, I was very blessed. Obviously, I didn't have to direct anyone. Matthew brought so much to the table that and he was really supportive. I've known Matthew for a few years now, and he couldn't have been more gracious and supportive of me directing. He elevated our episode so much..."
Of course, Chandler and Monica's reunion is not the first time "Friends" stars popped in each others' own shows. Aside from Perry, Lisa Kudrow and Jennifer Aniston also appeared in an episode of "Cougar Town". Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and Cox were also seen on Kudrow's comedy series "Web Therapy". Even Gunther, the Central Perk manager from "Friends", stopped by to visit LeBlanc in his show "Episodes".
