Time magazine said it most succintly and accurately - the new 'Game of Thrones' trailer does not disappoint. And it once again proved why it's "the jewel in HBO's crown," the Daily Mail noted.
Of course, as far as trailers go, the clip doesn't give you clear answers, only vague clues of things to come. However, what's apparent is that there's trouble in the horizon for the "cowardly" King Joffrey.
"They know I saved the city, they know I've won the war," the ruler, played by Jack Gleeson, smugly remarked a few seconds into the trailer. He is then reminded by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau's Jaime, an experienced soldier, of the truth by replying, "The war's not won." (Watch the trailer below)
Time noted the highlights in the clip that may whip fans into a frenzy: "Fans can get excited by more of King Joffrey being nasty at 0:06, Tyrion in handcuffs at 0:41, Arya remembering her sword skills at 1:00...and some new dude, at 0:45 and again around 1:06."
Don't forget that dragon's shadow in the first few seconds of the preview.
The American publication has announced of "new characters and actors appearing for the first time in Season 4." It is said that those who've been able to read the books can already predict who those new players are. However, those who've stuck to the TV version may be in for a lot of surprises. Are you planning to pick up a copy now? You still have time - the premiere is on April 6.
For one, there's Oberyn "Red Viper" Martell, that "guy" seen in the trailer telling Tyrion that the Lannisters won't be the only ones accountable. The Red Viper is played by Pedro Pascal and is a "prince of Dorne, the region at the south of Westeros." He's also the late Princess Elia Martell's brother.
What about the other new characters? You'll find out in updates we'll reveal later. So stay tuned and keep watching this space!
