Could Juan Mata be headed to Bayern Munich? According to reports, the club is looking to make a 20 million euro bid for the Chelsea midfielder.

At this point, no one can overlook the fact that Mata is unhappy in Chelsea under Jose Mourinho. The Spanish midfielder was a major fixture in Chelsea's offense in seasons prior, but has found himself relegated the bench under current coach Mourinho. The manager even claimed that Mata could leave if he wanted to and added that he would not stop him.

"I want to keep him. I don't want him to go. That is my opinion, my wish, but my door is open," said Mourinho, according to ESPNFC. "The club's door is open too, so when a player wants to speak to us we are there waiting for them. If you are asking do you want the club to sell him, no -- I don't want to."

Many have questioned whether Guardiola is simply trying to monopolize top players in order to take away potential weapons from other top teams. His purchase of Robert Lewandowski was an interesting one considering that he often uses a false nine and already had Mario Mandzukic at the striker position. How would Mata fit in with a midfield that is already filled with such stars as Thiago Alcantara, Thomas Mueller and Mario Goetze among others? Mata plays at the central attacking midfield position and his lack of versatility has affected his ability to remain in the starting XI for Chelsea. Would he be able to displace Goetze, who usually plays in that position?

This could also imply two other things for Munich. The team might be looking to sell an older player to make room for Mata or it might simply be looking to take Mata away from Chelsea and other potential suitors in order to avoid giving major rivals potential weapons.
