On Sunday, Jan. 12 the Golden Globes will hand out its 71st annual awards naming this year's best performances and best films of the year.
The awards ceremony is known as the biggest party in Hollywood as it also awards TV and all the biggest stars in Hollywood show up on the Red Carpet.
This year a number of Oscar contenders are nominated including "Rush," "Captain Phillips," "12 years a Slave," "American Hustle," "Her," "The Wolf of Wall Street," "Inside Llewyn Davis," and "Philomena."
Among the stars nominated are Leonardo DiCaprio, Jared Leto, Meryl Streep, Mattthew McConaughey, Judi Dench, Kate Winslet, Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender, Amy Adams and Emma Thompson. Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Oscar Isaac, and Robert Redford are also nominated.
Among the presenters, which were announced on Facebook for this year's awards, are Jim Carrey, Drew Barrymore, Johan Hill, Kevin Bacon, Julie Bowen, Laura Dern, Robert Downey Jr., Jimmy Fallon, Colin Farrell, Mila Kunis, Uma Thurman, Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hanks, Chris Hemsworth, Melissa McCarthy, Seth Meyers, Liam Neeson, Margot Robbie, Mark Ruffalo, Kyra Sedgwick, Channing Tatum, Emma Watson, Naomi Watts, Olivia Wilde, Jessica Chastain, Orlando Bloom and Amber Heard among others.
This year the Golden Globes will attempt to be more interactive with audiences who will not be able to watch the show live. For the first time audiences will be able to connect with their favorite star on Instagram. Instagram is coming up with an InstaStop Video Q&A Station on the Red Carpet, which will display and play fans video questions for the celebrities.
Amy Poehler and Tina Fey will host the show which will be held at Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. The award ceremony will be telecast live on NBC at 5 p.m. PST and 8 p.m. EST.
