The British Academy Awards has announced their nominations.

Steve McQueen's "12 Years a Slave" led the Best Picture category accomponied by "American Hustle," "Gravity," "Captain Phillips," and "Philomena."

In the Best Actor Category Chiwetel Ejiofor was nominated for "12 Years a Slave" alongside Christian Bale ("American Hustle"), Leonardo DiCaprio ("The Wolf of Wall Street"), Tom Hanks ("Captain Phillips") and Bruce Dern ("Nebraska").

Cate Blanchett ("Blue Jasmine") led the Best Actress category alongside Emma Thompson ("Saving Mr. Banks"), Judi Dench ("Philomena"), Amy Adams ("American Hustle"), and Sandra Bullock ("Gravity").

The Best Supporting Actor category included Michael Fassbender for "12 Years a Slave," and Bradley Cooper for "American Hustle." Daniel Bruhl ("Rush"), Barkhad Abdi ("Captain Phillips"), and Matt Damon ("Behind the Candelabra") rounded out the nominees.

In the Best Supporting Actress category, Jennifer Lawrence ("American Hustle") was nominated alongside Lupita Nyong'o ("12 Years a Slave"), Sally Hawkins ("Blue Jasmine"), Julia Roberts ("August: Osage County"), and Oprah Winfrey ("Lee Daniel's The Butler").

The Best Director nominees were Steve McQueen ("12 Years a Slave"), Alfonso Cuaron ("Gravity"), David O. Russell ("American Hustle"), Paul Greengrass ("Captain Phillips"), and Martin Scorsese ("The Wolf of Wall Street").

The Best British Film nominees included "Gravity," "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," "Philomena," "Saving Mr. Banks," "The Selfish Giant," and "Rush"

The BAFTAs will take place on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014 and will be held for the 80th year at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. The ceremony will be hosted by Stephen Fry and broadcast on the BBC.
