The beloved Bobba Fett character in the "Star Wars" Universe may be getting a standalone film film very soon.

According to the Digital Spy, the standalone film will reportedly be centered on the bounty hunter and will be written by "Empire Strikes Back" writer Lawrence Kasdan.

The news was also reported during an interview with AMC Movie Talk. "Metalocalypse" Director Jon Schepp said, "One of them is Boba Fett. It is. I know. I know for a fact."

He continued, "I will never reveal my source, but it is the one written by Lawrence Kasdan."

Disney has yet to confirm if the rumors are true, but based on their February announcements about the standalone films, more details should eventually be released.

Disney is also prepping a seventh "Star Wars" film. That movie was announced in 2013 but has yet to start casting. Additionally, the news on the picture has also slowed down after numerous rumors stated that Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill were returning for the franchise.

"Episode VII" is currently in pre-production. Bryan Burk will also produce the film with Tommy Harper ("Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol," "Jack Ryan," "Star Trek Into Darkness"). Meanwhile, Jason McGatlin ("The Adventures of Tintin," "War of the Worlds") will serve as executive producer and John Williams will be returning to score "Star Wars: Episode VII." The movie is scheduled for a Dec. 18, 2015 release and will begin shooting in Pinewood Studios in the U.K later this year.
