Bitspin, maker of the popular Timely alarm clock app for Android, has been acquired by Google.
The Bitspin team made the announcement on their website this week. "We're thrilled to announce that Bitspin is joining Google, where we'll continue to do what we love: building great products that are delightful to use."
Though Google is known for killing off apps that it doesn't find useful, Timely fans should not worry. According to Bitspin, it will continue to work just like always, and will be available in the Google Play Store going forward.
As a bonus to Android users who haven't tried Timely, the app will now offer all of its in-app content for free now, according to Android Authority.
It's not clear how much Google paid for Bitspin, or what projects they plan on employing the team on going forward, but one would expect some beautiful design on official Android apps to result from Bitspin's talents. Here's a look at the Timely app's design.
