Fox has released the first image to Ridley Scott's latest film "Exodus."
The new film, starring Christian Bale, tells the story of Moses and his biblical adventures. Bale plays Moses in the film and the new still shows him riding a horse with a statue of Rhamses being built in the background.
The new film marks the first collaboration between Scott and Bale. Bale was recently seen in "American Hustle" for which he received a Golden Globe and Broadcast Critics Choice nomination. He also appeared in "Out of the Furnace." He has also been seen in "The Dark Knight" trilogy, "The Prestige," "American Psycho," and "The Fighter" for which he won an Oscar. Bale is slated to appear next in Terrence Malick's "Knight of Cups."
Scott recently directed "The Counselor" with Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem and Cameron Diaz. He also directed "Prometheus," "Robin Hood," "Body fo Lies," "American Gangster," "Gladiator," and "Black Hawk Down" for which he was nominated for Best Director at the Academy Awards. Scott also helmed "Blade Runner" and will next helm the sequel to "Blade Runner."
"Exodus" is just one of a handful of films revolving around bible tales set to bow in 2014. Darren Aronofsky's "Noah" is also slated to be released in the spring.
"Exodus" is scheduled to open on Dec. 12, 2014 and is expected to be a big awards contender.
